DECISIONS

PLANT P&L ESTIMATE ($ MILLIONS)

Plant view only: before SG&A (promotion, sales, admin), R&D, interest and taxes. Those come in the scale model.
Labor per unit falls about 10% of the automation-1 rate for each automation point (Capstone guide). Units above first-shift capacity use a second shift at +50% labor, up to 2× capacity. Depreciation is estimated as capacity × ($6 + $4 × automation) ÷ 15 years. Inventory carrying cost is 12% of the value of ending inventory. In Capstone, automation and capacity changes take a full year to take effect; here they apply instantly so you can see the result.
"Next round" applies Capstone's annual labour-contract raise. The 5.6% default is calibrated to the Capsim Round 3 decision screen: Andrews' Acre shows $7.18 labour per unit at automation 6 with 25% second shift, against $6.80 at Round 2 rates.
